U11 Handballers are All-Ireland Champions!

What an unbelievable day for Scoil Cholmcille in Gormanston last week as our U11 boys Olympic Handball team claimed All-Ireland glory. Having already won the Meath and Leinster titles in 2026, our boys took to the court full of confidence but it was not going to be easy. At the end of the group stages, ourselves, Moycullen from Galway and Crosshaven from Cork stood level on points with only two to advance to the final. We manged to get through on goals scored with just one to spare over a talented and sporting Moycullen team. The final vs Crosshaven proved just as tight with the Skryne prevailing - just - on a 4-3 score line. What a brilliant campaign by this team who showed skill, dedication, bravery and courage right throughout the year. They have trained so hard since Christmas. Unfortunately we can only bring a panel of 10 players on game day so a special mention to our 3rd Class boys who have made training so competitive and have pushed this panel on to great things. Their time will come. Finally a huge thanks to Ms. Harrington and Ms. Foxe for looking after and coaching the lads. Comhghairdeas sibh go léir!
