It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Mr. Noel Hogan, former principal of Scoil Cholmcille. Noel was appointed to Scoil Cholmcille in 1959 and retired as principal in the 1992/93 school year.
Over the last few weeks several members of our school community have shared fond memories of Noel. Many of our current parents would have been taught by him when they attended Scoil Cholmcille. In these recollections, the word 'gentleman' has often been used to describe Noel. Moreover, everyone is unanimous on the immense contribution he has made to educational and sporting fabric of Skryne parish.
Noel was in his 91st year when he passed peacefully last month. On behalf of the staff and Board of Management of Scoil Cholmcille, we extend our deepest condolences to Noel's family and friends. He will be always remembered in Scoil Cholmcille and the wider Skryne community.
